In a message dated 95-07-13 18:52:21 EDT, you write:

I would start from scratch and do a low level format. After a few
million accesses, the head servos may be sloppy. The occasional
thermal recalibration the drive performs as the platter warms up
may actually be introducing the errors. You probably should do the
format after the drive has had a couple hours to warm up. Be patient,
350 Megs should take from 9 to 10 minutes to low level format,
and the Amiga may give no feedback as to what it is doing. My
1.7 Gig Micropolis took 45 minutes to format and gave no feedback.
The next step is to check the entire drive for bad sectors. Most drives
slowly develop bad sectors over their lifetime. Marking the bad
sectors now could save a lot of headaches in the future.
Now the drive should be ready for high level formatting and error
free operation.
